I’m Irene, your Spanish teacher. I am wondering to know you and be able to help you to improve your Spanish.
I was born in Carmona (Seville, Spain) and since I was a little girl I love discovering new horizons and experiences.
I love traveling and nature so what I like most of all is to take my van, drive to unsuspected places, explore and go hiking.
I started studying to become a PE teacher because I’ve always love sports.
But during my Erasmus experience in Romania, I realized I had a passion for languages and travel
So I decided to take up a degree in Translation and Interpreting.
Mi año de intercambio universitario me permitió descubrir el mundo de ELE con un proyecto de fácil lectura.
Later I decided to specialize with a Master’s Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (Máster de enseñanza de ELE).
Since then I’ve not stopped training and reinventing myself in a wide variety of contexts. Would you like to discover them?
It all started with my experience as a Language Assistant in France (Saint-Nazaire, 2009).
I was fortunate enough to teach my own culture in small groups within the French public education system. I created all kinds of pedagogical resources focusing on the students’ speaking and listening skills.
In 2011, I crossed the Atlantic and experienced a completely different educational context on the island of St. Lucia (Castries).
With students used to a rather traditional teaching style I had to adapt and included a communication-based methodology focused on action.
Back in Spain, I taught in a number of academies in the private sector until I decided to set up my own company to offer one-to-one tailor-made teaching courses in a real context.
That’s how “Vamos-Learn Spanish Online” was born: to ensure continuity in the learning of my students who returned to their home countries but wanted to continue their Spanish lessons.
I started to give online lessons and realized the amazing potential of digital learning for students. It allowed them to continue learning from anywhere in the world while giving me the opportunity “to travel” with them!
“Me permite viajar con mis alumn@s y a ell@s seguir aprendiendo desde cualquier parte del mundo“.
